Guillermo Kuitca

Guillermo Kuitca was born in Buenos Aires in1961.
Kuitca is an installation artist, sculptor, and draughtsman, best known for manipulating geographical maps and architectural plans. Kuitca began painting from an early age, and his early work depicts theater sets with titles drawn from literature and music. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Kuitca began working on installations based on typographies, and explored themes of public and private space, memory, and migration.
Kuitca's work has been shown extensively around the globe, and is included in many important public collections, including The Tate Gallery, England; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC; Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, NY; The Daros Collection, Zürich, Switzerland and the Nader Latin American Art Museum, Miami, FL.
