Armando Mariño

Armando Mariño was born in the city of Santiago de Cuba, Cuba in the year 1968.

Mariño studied painting from 1982-1987 at the Escuela Provincial de Arte Joaquín Tejada in Santiago de Cuba and from 1987-1992 at the Facultad de Educación Artística del Instituto Superior Pedagógico Enrique José Varona in Havana, Cuba. From 2004 -2005, he studied at the Rijksakademie van beldeende kunsten in Amsterdam, Holland.

In the year 1999, Gary Nader gallery presented Armando Mariño’s first Solo Show in the city of Miami titled Recent Works at Gary Nader fine art gallery in Coral Gables, Florida.

Two years later, Gary Nader curated Mariño’s second Solo Show in Miami titled In Utero, inaugurated at Gary Nader fine art gallery, Coral Gables on August 2001.

Armando Mariño’s work has been widely exhibited internationally and is included in the permanent collections of Deutsche Bank Collection USA, 21cMuseum, Shelley and Donald Rubin Private Collection, Sarah and Darius Anderson Collection, Howard Farber Collection, Centro Wifredo Lam, in Havana, Colección Berardo Museo de Arte Moderna in Sintra, Portugal, National Museum of Valjevo, Coca Cola Foundation in Spain, University of Virginia Art Museum, Rijskakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam, Holland, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Havana, Cuba, Gary Nader Collection, among others.

Armando Mariño lives and works in New York.
