Pedro Figari was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on June 29, 1861

Figari’s work has been widely exhibited in important several institutions, and museums including Sociedad de Amigos del Arte, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1938), Musee d'art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris, France (1960), Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1961), Art of Latin America since Independence, Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, CT (1966), Museo de Artes Visuales, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1967), Instituto Torcuato Di Tella, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1967), Figari, Reveron, Santa Maria, Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango, Bogota, Colombia (1985), Center for Inter-American Relations, New York, NY (1986),  Latin America: The Modern Era, 1820-1980, Hayward Gallery, London, UK (1989), Pavillon des Arts, Paris, France (1992).  

The work of Pedro Figari has been also showed at Gary Nader gallery, Wynwood Arts District, Miami, including the group exhibitions: Latin American Masters, Latin American Art Modern Masters and Contemporary, Latin American Modern and Contemporary Art, among others.    

Pedro Figari died in Montevideo, Uruguay on July 24, in 1938
