Gary Nader Art Centre marks the conclusion of Picasso to Botero, an exhibition that brought European modernism and Latin American art into conversation in Miami.

Taking the work of Pablo Picasso and Fernando Botero as its starting point, the exhibition traced connections across painting, sculpture, abstraction, and kinetic art. It offered visitors a view of how artists from Latin America developed distinct visual languages while engaging with international artistic movements.

A Dialogue Across Generations

The exhibition featured Amelia Peláez, Joaquín Torres-García, and Emilio Pettoruti alongside Wifredo Lam, Rufino Tamayo, Diego Rivera, and Fernando de Szyszlo. Together, their works reflected different approaches to form, identity, and the development of modern art across the region.

Works by Carlos Cruz-Diez, Jesús Rafael Soto, Guillermo Kuitca, Vik Muniz, and Oswaldo Vigas extended that conversation through color, perception, space, and contemporary interpretations of artistic tradition.
