About the Exhibition
Visual Rhythms: A Global Tapestry of Contemporary and Modern Art brings modern masters and contemporary artists into conversation across generations, geographies and artistic disciplines. Presented at Gary Nader Art Centre in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, the exhibition explores how artists reshape inherited visual languages through memory, movement, personal narrative and cultural exchange.
From the optical precision of kinetic abstraction to the energy of urban art, the presentation traces connections across different approaches to form, color and material. Works by Wifredo Lam and Carlos Cruz-Diez appear alongside those of Adam Pendleton, Marina Perez Simão and Os Gêmeos, opening a dialogue between historical legacies and contemporary experience.
Painting, sculpture and other media offer different ways into that dialogue. Recurring gestures, shifting rhythms and contrasts in scale invite visitors to move between works, discover unexpected relationships and consider how images carry histories while acquiring new meanings.
The exhibition reflects the Centre’s expanding contemporary program and its engagement with a new generation of collectors and audiences. Rather than following a single chronological narrative, Visual Rhythms invites an encounter with art through the connections that emerge across movements and individual practices.
