On September 15, 2025, Gary Nader Art Centre announced the final weeks of Botero Immersed. The experience, which opened in December 2021, concluded on October 22, 2025, bringing to a close a sustained encounter with the work of Colombian artist Fernando Botero.

Botero’s World in Light and Sound

Created by Gary Nader, with music by Emilio Estefan, Botero Immersed translated the artist’s distinctive visual language into a 360° audiovisual environment. Projections, light and sound surrounded audiences with scenes from the circus, bullfighting and everyday life in Latin America, alongside Botero’s reinterpretations of the great masters.

The installation offered a different way to approach his work: familiar figures, expressive details and vivid colors unfolded at architectural scale, inviting visitors to experience the images as a surrounding world.

A Cultural Chapter in Miami

Extended several times following its launch, the experience welcomed audiences over nearly four consecutive years. It also provided a setting for gatherings and events that connected Botero’s imagery with Miami’s cultural life.

As this chapter concluded, Gary Nader expressed gratitude to the public, the team behind the installation and Emilio Estefan for their creative collaboration.

“This conclusion is not a farewell, but the prelude to new ways of honoring Botero’s enduring legacy.”Gary Nader · Founder and Director, Gary Nader Art Centre
